Crane Group Project
Overview

As a group, a crane was designed and built to lift up a 40kg load. The forces involved in each element were considered using the Engineering Science module. An Excel spreadsheet was used to work out the forces on each beam and calculate the optimal length, shape and material required to carry the minimum load. The spreadsheet showed a U beam was the most effective.
